World Health Day

by Tom Lunneborg on April 18, 2012

World Health Day was April 7th.

This day marks the anniversary of the World Health Organization. It was founded back in 1948 as a global organization to bring all leaders and public together to focus on emerging health issues and positively impact everyone’s well-being.

Each World Health Day has a focus topic. This year’s topic is “Aging and Health.” The mantra is “Good health adds life to years.”

Think about that last line for a minute. Go back and read that line again. How many times have you read it differently? I’ve read it many times as “this will add years to your life.” We’ve all seen it in marketing ads.

Those of you that are in your retirement years probably understand the message very clearly. How enjoyable are the retirement years of our life, without good health? We all know people who are retired that have good health and we also know those that do not. Good health adds life to years. That statement sums it up perfectly.

Those of you that aren’t even close to your retirement age, don’t stop reading. This message is as much for you as anyone. Retirement age may seem very far off and you might seem bulletproof right now, but it will get here much quicker than you expect.

The message from the World Health Organization this year is another reminder. A reminder that we all know is true. Each and every one of us can make a dramatic impact on our health. It can be positive or negative. We make choices many times throughout each day. The choices we make are compounded over the years. Even before we reach the “golden years” we either have added life to our years or taken life away from our years.

All of us want to be happy and healthy, none of us are reading this and saying “nah, I’ll take the poor health option.” This is where choices we make every day, impact our current and future quality of life.

Choices like these:

  • Did you choose to get 7-8 hours of sleep?
  • Did you choose to eat breakfast?
  • Did you choose to eat fresh, high quality, foods?
  • Did you choose to be active today? (Going for a long walk is active, you don’t need to join a gym. Simply get moving every day.)
  • Did you choose to smoke today?
  • Did you choose the stairs or the elevator?
  • Did you choose fast food or pack a lunch?
  • Did you read today or make time to challenge your mind?
  • Did you take Life Shotz today?

I just listed nine choices that will impact your health based on what you choose. There are many more daily choices than what are listed above. I just wanted to paint a picture for you. The best part is, we all know the correct choices to make, it’s a matter of making them.

Life Shotz is unique that even if people are making the wrong choices daily, but wisely take Life Shotz, they will feel the positive impact. It just might be the impact they needed to start making more of the right choices.

Think about the choices you’ve made in the past 11 days since the anniversary of the World Health Organization. Have they had a positive or negative impact on your overall health? Make a goal to form more healthy habits — you have the next 354 days to do so.

We are in a position to dramatically influence the health of the world.

A belated Happy World Health Day to you!

Give The Gift Of Health

by Tom Lunneborg on November 9, 2011

The holiday season is upon us. This is a wonderful time of year for many reasons.

The weather shifts to crisp, cool days as the leaves change to a beautiful array of reds, oranges and yellows. They begin to cascade down upon the green grass as it goes dormant for the winter.

Major League Baseball has just crowned its new champion and football is in full swing across the nation.

The holidays bring us together more than any other time of year. They prompt us to reflect back on the last year and give thanks. We give thanks for loved ones, accomplishments, new beginnings, milestones and health. Each of us has our own list.

This time of year always flashes by and we are quickly into a new year. A new year of hustle and bustle, deadlines and due dates….

What one thing stops all of this dead in its tracks? What one thing instantly changes the importance of everything? You’ve seen it happen. It is the game changer of all game changers … HEALTH!

When your health fails, everything else takes a back seat. Being in good health is by far the most important thing to appreciate. A change in health doesn’t even need to be catastrophic for us to realize its impact. Just remember the last time you had a bad flu or pneumonia, and how everything else in your life, for that period of time, took a back seat. Remember how you did everything you could to get over the illness and just feel better.

How many years go by that we take our health for granted? We press on with our daily routine almost blatantly ignoring the reminders of eating healthy, exercising and supplementing. We are flirting with disaster.

Life Shotz was built for a purpose. The purpose is to positively impact the health of everyone.

It has been nearly one year since our launch last November. Over this time we have shared the benefits of health with tens of thousands of people, many of whom have thanked us in writing. Life Shotz has the power to shift health in the right direction. It can give us a boost of energy that motivates us to exercise. It can provide a positive mood that chases stress away. It can help restore restful and rejuvenating sleep. It can bolster our immune system so our body has the advantage over illness.

Life Shotz is not a magical elixir that instantly restores health. Life Shotz is a scientifically blended nutritional supplement that will nourish the body with vital nutrients our foods lack. The affect is dramatic. What you do with it is up to you.

Share the greatest gift anyone can receive this holiday season. Share the gift of health.

Men’s Health Week: Men, Their Cars, and Their Health

by Tom Lunneborg on June 13, 2011

Did you read the new study about men, cars, and health?

It starts out with a shock: “Nearly 70% of men find it easier to care for their cars than they do their personal health.”

Take time to really think about what this means.

  1. Most men will take their car into the shop for repairs, but they won’t visit a doctor for advice.
  2. They know exactly what goes into their car, but they eat and drink products with ingredients almost no one can pronounce.
  3. When their car starts running sluggishly, they’ll try to diagnose and fix the problem, but when the same thing happens to their body, most of them will ignore the warning signs.

Don’t Leave Health to Chance

Significant others notice that men don’t take care of themselves. In fact, 40% of significant others worry about the health of their male partner.

That’s why Men’s Health Week is so important. It’s not just about men: it’s about all the people who love their husbands, fathers, sons, and friends, and it’s an opportunity to raise awareness and promote the nutrition and wellness habits that lead to longer, happier lives.

A great place to start is Life Shotz. Designed to help bodies get total nutrition and complete wellness, Life Shotz is essential for all of us.

  • Fight aging with antioxidants. After age 40, the body needs help to maintain cells and keep you looking and feeling young, and antioxidants are key to cellular health.
  • Get vitamin D, the miracle vitamin. Scientists are discovering more benefits to vitamin D almost every day. Are you getting enough?
  • Help build endurance and recover from tough workouts or hard days at work. Life Shotz has the nutrients your body needs to make the most of natural energy.

Our bodies are high-performance vehicles capable of accomplishing amazing feats every day, and that’s why we need to give them the most elite nutrition possible.

This week, as you prepare for Father’s Day, make sure the men in your life are giving their health the attention it deserves.

Cell Talk (No Phone Required): Part II

by Dr. Todd on May 17, 2011

Life Shotz is designed to enhance cellular signaling and communication. It is not designed to cure or heal anything in particular. In the absence of stimulants and the expectant crash that follows, Life Shotz supports the biology of high performance in a sustainable, cell-friendly way.

There are a plethora of “energy” drinks out there. Life Shotz is not one of them. It is not a fast-acting, pumped-up stimulant. While it will contribute to efficient production of energy, it will not ignite a sudden, short-lived buzz like the one you can expect from caffeine and other stimulants.

As a sophisticated smart drink, Life Shotz enhances cell-to-cell communication without overstressing the system and causing fatigue or premature malfunction and degeneration.

Each of us strives to do our best, regardless of what we do. We want to realize our potential. But, unless we’re careful, the pursuit of high performance can be costly and land us in the sinkhole of being “burned out.”

This happens when cells (and the mitochondria in particular) put out more than they receive, ultimately causing cells to fail. When demand upon our cells exceeds their ability to be restored, the system suffers a net loss.

If we project this micro event into the cosmos of our overall biology, our metabolic function becomes rundown and immune surveillance is compromised, causing us to slide into a constellation of possible diseases and disorders.

Preferably, we’ll prevent that from happening. To do that, cells must be highly tuned communicators, enabled to listen and respond appropriately to the choices we make. That means they must be supplied the nutrients and building blocks for energy production and proper signaling, be protected from damage by excessive stress, and have the necessary support for repair and regeneration in a sustainable way.

Life Shotz is a smart choice . . . a smart solution. Its synergistic matrix of nutrient-dense ingredients helps cells communicate better. It’s a true meta-food. If the body needs pro-oxidants, it will help. If it needs anti-oxidants, it will assist. If it needs to deal with inflammation, it will be supportive. If it needs rest, it will calm. There is no place where Life Shotz is not welcome.

If realizing our potential is our vision and expectation, then high performance is our practice, which demands lots of energy . . . which requires restoration and revitalization. It requires balance.

Every day we journey through the inner cosmos of our ever-evolving cellular terrain, teetering between success and failure, illness and health. We ask a lot of ourselves. Life Shotz gives back. As a premier cell signaling complex, Life Shotz enhances the cell-to-cell conversation within, making it easier to stay balanced as we reach for our highest potential.

Cell Talk (No Phone Required): Part I

by Dr. Todd on May 13, 2011

I’ve been thinking about communication . . . how our cells talk to each other in order for us to experience being alive and healthy.

Except for times we’re exhilarated or in some kind of pain, cellular communication is easy to overlook. And yet cellular communication, a cascade of incomprehensible light-speed events, is an essential process for our moment-to-moment experience of life. It is the means by which our body is animated and enlivened.

Without that ability for our cells to effectively communicate, we fail.

The communication between our cells, organs and tissues is facilitated by a signaling process. Carried by certain molecules derived from oxygen, food and water, these signals enable function to occur.

For example, when biting into an apple, the body will immediately signal a complex sequence of messages and processes to break down the apple into energy and essential structural nutrients for cellular repair and replacement.

That initial signal activates communication throughout the entire body, enabling our metabolism to send support to every facet of our function, be it mental, emotional, or physical. Our health and performance is completely dependent upon how well that signaling and communication process works.

Cellular communication—that’s how we survive, thrive, revive, and heal. Second by second, cell by cell, our body conducts an orchestra of functions as complex and wondrous as the universe. All the cells of our body without exception—all the organs and systems—are linked together by a highly intelligent language of synchronized messages.

It’s a constant and delicate balance, all dependent upon cellular signaling and communication.

Science has shown that specific nutrients are essential signalers for this delicate operation—B vitamins, N-Acetylcysteine, Vitamin D, minerals like magnesium and zinc, and a rich assortment of micronutrients found in select plant foods.

Unfortunately, it is increasingly difficult to find these nutrients, these signalers, in our standard diet and food supply.

But they are found in Life Shotz, which means Life Shotz helps cells communicate better, defend what needs protection, restore what is exhausted or damaged, and enhance our metabolic fitness.
